IT Project Manager (Internal) –  Information Technology Division

  • Main duties / responsibilities
  • Own overall project management activities for one or multiple projects – project management plan, scope management, schedule management, cost management, quality management, communication and stakeholder management (may include external vendors), risk and issue management, change management, and others as specified in company PMO project management standard.
  • Collaborate and communicate with global and regional IT teams and other teams through projects, and project related escalations, meetings, and communications.
  • Produce an accurate and professional monthly and weekly project reporting for assigned projects, including attending and presenting at manager reviews.
  • Produce and maintain project associated documents such as project management plan, work breakdown structure, project approval related documents, RACI, meeting minutes, risk/issue/change register, and regular project reports.
  • Learn and operationalize company’s business model, terminology, IT system and architecture, other associated/interdependent projects, and most importantly company’s culture and core values, as those are required by smooth and successful project management.
  • Able and willing to contribute own knowledge and learning to PMO through study group, lessons learned, Confluence tool, and other PMO team meetings
  • Most of the above duties are conducted in English, compensated in Japanese at times.
  • Qualifications / experiences
  • (must) 5+ years of project delivery experiences – internal IT, business, or end customer facing projects (applications, software, IT operations, and/or infrastructure).
  • (must) 5+ years of project management experiences – internal IT, business, or end customer facing projects (applications, software, IT operations, and/or infrastructure).
  • (must) Experiences in global or international projects where project communication is all in English, and member culture is diversified.
  • (must) Business relationship management especially with business user teams and their managers.
  • (must) High business level Japanese (JLPT Level 2 & above preferred)
  • (must) Ability to manage health and productivity – no frequent surprise regarding attendance
  • (must) Proficiency in MS office tools – powerpoint, excel, word, outlook, etc.
  • Experiences in project team performance management and improvement – coaching, advising, and guiding
  • Expertise in constructive problem solving, influencing, and negotiation, and building health relationship
  • PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner certified – desired
  • ITIL understanding as a Plus
  • Knowledge in Visio is a Plus
  • JIRA & Confluence will be used in projects, so be ready to learn or use it
  • The role is not to hire project coordinators, so going beyond general admin tasks such as meeting scheduling, facilitation, and meeting minutes delivery is critical for renewal.
